  • (1888PressRelease) February 04, 2015 - CALGARY, AB - Since 2004, Guide to Schools has served as the go-to guide for parents, student and teachers regarding education in Canada. This year marks its 10th anniversary where it aims to continue presenting compelling content to its affluent and well-educated readership, by creating and launching an edition that honours earlier publications and welcomes new, fresh content.

"We are very excited about launching the tenth edition of the Guide to Schools Magazine! A lot has changed over the past ten years, and we are proud to have been there every step of the way," said Publisher Tara Molina. "In this edition, we continue to cover current issues that matter to parents, teachers and students."

Over the last 10 years of publishing this influential magazine, Guide to Schools has achieved many successes, and has also faced some new and exciting opportunities. "One of the biggest changes over the last ten years has been through the technology that is available to us and its use in both the classroom and at home. Be it iPads, social media platforms, smart boards or e-learning, technology has played a major role in transforming how we communicate in and out of the classroom. We continue to advance technologically at the Guide to Schools Magazine as well, via our website guidetoschools.ca," explained Molina.

In Alberta, families are fortunate to have a wide variety of options when considering the best choice of school for their child to attend. Since the possibilities can be overwhelming, it is important for parents to be able to narrow them down.

Guide to Schools' goal is to assist parents, students and teachers in making these decisions. Additionally, Guide to Schools endeavours to address all of a child's needs, whether education or social, and answer questions like "what kind of atmosphere do parents want for their children at school," or, "what types of communication exist with the Principal, teachers and parents?"

As they enter into this new era of the magazine, Molina shared some insights into the most recent edition. "We are eager to cover new topics that we had not covered previously. In this edition, we are offering parents an insight into the world of theft. The article "Stealing: What Parents Need To Know" will help address this issue and provide helpful guidance in dealing with the problem."
