(1888PressRelease) October 10, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - Leading mobile technology service provider Guide by Cell is collaborating with Virtual Gallerie, a producer of 3D visualization software for museums and other cultural institutions, in creating a new virtual online tour experience.

With the virtual exhibition software, museums can repurpose content from their existing mobile audio tours into a 3D, Web-based version of their exhibit halls and displays.

Guide by Cell is the first to offer a hosted, fully customizable Web-based platform that allows museums to upload images and associated multimedia to create a 3D experience.

All uploaded content is immediately accessible to the museum's online visitors via a link created by Guide by Cell. Once a person visits the museum website and clicks the tour link, they "enter" the gallery and walk through a realistic, 3D virtual reproduction of the chosen exhibit.

Users can scroll through the gallery and interact with each work, zoom in for a closer look, read descriptions and artist bios, follow associated links, hear audio and watch videos.
