Charlottesville, VA (1888PressRelease) August 07, 2012 - Orange, Virginia-based Guardian Angel Service Dogs, Inc., which raises and trains service dogs to help individuals with invisible disabilities such as diabetes and epilepsy, announced today that it has been selected as one of 100 nonprofit winners in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program. 100 Cars for Good is a major philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days. Guardian Angel Service Dogs, Inc. was selected as a winner based on votes from the public on July 17, 2012 on the 100 Cars for Good Facebook page at www.100carsforgood.com.

The Toyota Highlander being awarded to Guardian Angel Service Dogs, Inc. will enable the nonprofit to safely transport the medical service dog, trainer and all their equipment and supplies to their new home, thus greatly reducing overall travel costs.

For 100 consecutive days, between May 14 and August 21, 2012, 100 Cars for Good will profile five finalists at www.100carsforgood.com. Individual members of the public are invited to vote for which ever nonprofit they think can do the most good with a new vehicle. The nonprofit with the most votes at the end of each day will win one of six Toyota models. A six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty will also be provided for each vehicle, compliments of Toyota Financial Services. Runners-up will each receive a $1,000 cash grant from Toyota.

Toyota's philanthropy efforts have contributed more than half a billion dollars to U.S. nonprofits since 1991. 100 Cars for Good is the first initiative to directly engage the public to determine how Toyota's philanthropic donations are awarded.
