  • (1888PressRelease) December 12, 2012 - Tampa, FLA. - KeriCureTM Inc. (KeriCure) announced today that it has finalized a funding agreement with the Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research, a not for profit organization that works with Florida's research universities and institutions to support new company and job growth. KeriCure is engaged in development and commercialization of advanced platform polymer technology, based on research conducted at the University of South Florida. The goal of the Institute program is to bridge company funding gaps, enabling them to reach critical milestones and attract additional private investment capital.

KeriCure's wound care technology delivers a water-based solution, ultimately providing hydration, cooling, and natural debridement to the wound bed while maintaining a moist wound environment. Breathable and highly elastic, KeriCure wound care technology provides a solid polymer film that forms over damaged tissue. Application immediately calms nerve endings, providing a soothing effect, and blocks bacterial colonization in the wound. By offering a variety of topical products, KeriCure is designed to promote healing, prevent infection, and reduce associated costs for care.

"Funds made available through the Seed Capital Accelerator Program, combined with private matching funds will facilitate several strategic initiatives for KeriCure including FDA clearance and launch of our liquid bandage product line with an initial focus in the natural products market through a multi-pronged deployment process," commented Kerriann Greenhalgh, Founder and CEO. "

Just last year, the Institute has committed nearly 65% of funding available to promising companies like KeriCure, and we look forward to following their development and growth," said Jamie Grooms, Institute President and Chief Executive Officer. "This program is a critical component of Florida's innovation and economic development strategy, helping companies develop and launch their products, grow and succeed."
