Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) July 19, 2008 - Spectrum Thin Films celebrates its 15th year in business providing high technology optics and optical coatings. This year is a transitional year for the high technology optical coating manufacturer. Moving it's 32 employees into a newly acquired building which required massive modifications to include a clean room laboratory, QC department and office space, all this while achieving ISO 9001:2000 Certification and still meeting the demands of their customers. “We have succeeded, and to celebrate our success we want to thank our customers” says Anthony Pirera, President of Spectrum Thin Films, Inc.

The company is most recently known for the technology that went into the camera lenses that delivered the clear imagery of the Phoenix Mars Lander this past May, the successful mission that discovered water on Mars, and will also calibrate the optical reflectors on the James Webb Space telescope when it's launched in 2013.
