  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) April 15, 2013 - Gridiron Queendom launches online fundraising platform to help fund the U.S. women's national tackle football team in the IFAF Women's World Championship.

It isn't enough that these 45 women represent the best female football athletes in America, they must go one step further and prove that they are the best salespeople as well by raising the financing they need to defend the country's gold medal.

From June 28 to July 6, Finland will host the 2013 IFAF Women's World Championship. The women of the U.S. national team are the defending gold medalists and must compete against other women's tackle teams from Spain, Sweden, Germany, Finland, and Canada to defend their title - assuming the U.S. national team can afford to go.

In an effort to support the U.S. women's tackle team, Gridiron Queendom has launched a "Pay2Play" online fundraising platform to help fund these amazing athletes. Each team member must pay a $500 deposit to USA Football, the sports' governing body, by April 15th, with a subsequent $500 payment due May 15th, and the balance of $2000 due June 1st.

All of the players on the team have full-time jobs and dedicate their "spare" time on evenings and weekends to training and competing in games in preparation for the tournament in Finland. "We at Gridiron Quendom felte it was important to provide a centralized and unified platform to help with the U.S. national team's fundraising efforts," states Adrienne Smith, founder of Gridiron Queendom and national team member. "We are seeking individual donations and corporate sponsors to help champion our cause." The $3000 in fees will reportedly be used to cover each athlete's airfare, lodging, food, and tournament fees. Individuals and organizations interested in supporting the women of the U.S. national tackle football team can contribute to the Pay2Play campaign by visiting the Gridiron Queendom website at www.gridironqueendom.com.
