Griaule Biometrics Partners With Diebold To Deploy Fingerprint Recognition On ATMs
Griaule Biometrics has partnered with Diebold, and Lumidigm to provide biometric fingerprint recognition for Caixa Economica Federal ATMs in Brazil. The goal is to provide Caixa 58 million customers with a safe and easy process to access their bank accounts at electronic terminals that does not rely on a password.
- (1888PressRelease) July 30, 2012 - Campinas, San Paulo, Brazil - Griaule Biometrics a worldwide developer of biometric technologies and services announced today that Caixa Economica Federal one of the largest public banks in Latin America is deploying fingerprint readers on more than 3500 ATMs, with plans to convert all of their ATMs in Brazil by the end of 2014. The project is a partnership between Griaule Biometrics, Brazil Diebold, a provider of ATMs, and of Lumidigm, a provider of Fingerprint Readers.

The goal is to ensure that more than 58 million registered customers of Caixa Economica Federal bank have a secure and easy way to identify themselves for access to their bank accounts at electronic terminals. To withdraw the money, customers only need to insert their bank ATM card, and place their finger on the fingerprint reader. No password will be required, nor training, because the procedure is easy and secure.
