Greensleeves celebrates its anniversary by giving away free dry cleaning for a full day on Saturday March 1st.
The Green Dry Cleaner
New York, NY (1888PressRelease) February 07, 2008 - Greensleeves garment care, "The Green Dry Cleaner" is celebrating its first anniversary by offering a full day of free dry cleaning.
Since its opening a year ago, Greensleeves has seen outstanding growth. Customers from all five boroughs of New York City and many towns, villages and cities on Long Island have found the cleaner to be just what they were looking for. Environmentally safe, non-toxic and superb quality cleaning are just some of the features mentioned by customers.
Greensleeves Garment Care regularly offers free dry cleaning for active military personnel and free cleaning of the American flag as a "way of showing our true colors - which is green," owner Thomas Davis says.
Offering free pick up and delivery, Greensleeves has done well in Glen Cove. Mayor Ralph Suozzi, who is also a customer, was there on opening day. After being listed by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation for a site contaminated by a former dry cleaner not far from the site where Greensleeves stands today, it was a welcome change in the right direction.
Free of any toxic cleaning agents or hazardous chemicals, Greensleeves proudly calls itself "the Green Dry Cleaner" by the owner who has been active in environmental causes since the first Earth Day in 1970.
"It's not only good for the environment, it's good for the wearer, too." Davis says. "Cleaning your clothes in toxic chemicals leaves a residue. That residue gets on the skin of the wearer and eventually into your system. Not good!"
Greensleeves anniversary/free dry cleaning day is Saturday March 1st from 8:00am until 5:00pm. Any one item will be cleaned free of charge.
