Greater Lansing Orchid Society Presents 31st Annual Show & Sale
The Greater Lansing Orchid Society will host its 31st Annual Show and Sale this Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 a.m., with a wide variety of tropical orchids. This event is free for everyone and fun for the entire family.
- Lansing-East Lansing, MI (1888PressRelease) February 05, 2014 - The Greater Lansing Orchid Society will host its 31st Annual Orchid Show & Sale on Saturday, Feb. 22 and Sunday, Feb. 23, at Michigan State University's Plant and Soil Science Conservatory.
This two-day event will exhibit hundreds of exotic blooming orchid plants from all over the world. Orchid photography, art and flower arrangements will be showcased and available for purchase. The show will also offer free educational talks and advice from industry experts on caring for orchids. The event is family-friendly and a must-see for those who love the natural beauty of these exquisite tropical flowers. This year's photographer's session is on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., only tripods allowed at this time.
The show is free to the public and will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, photographers' session from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., and exhibits open Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The event will be located near the Wharton Center, on the southwest corner of Bogue Street and Wilson Road, at 1066 Bogue Street. Free event parking will be available on both days of the event.
The Greater Lansing Orchid Society exists to create an awareness of orchid culture, foster the preservation of native species of orchids, support research and development of orchid culture, and hold meetings, lectures and exhibitions. The Annual Orchid Show & Sale is a highly valued opportunity and anticipated by its members. This event is a prime occasion for the society to help educate the community about orchids and generate interest in the exotic flower. The society's meetings usually take place on the third Saturday during the months of January, March, May, September and November.
