  • (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2013 - From May 9 to 12 was held in Genoa, Italy, one of the most important food events in the world. Set in the picturesque ancient port of the city, the Slow Fish was not just an exhibition but a campaign to understand the Oceans and the world in which we're living in. Producers, chefs, and exhibitors of different countries met to talk about food, environment and fish resources.

    An initiative of Slow Food, a nonprofit association that defends food cultures and biodiversity respecting the environment, to educate youth on the food traditions. This time, the event was open to a generic public for free, integrating adults and children into the food world.

    Bormioli Rocco, the international glass company, participated in the event with a stand that took visitors to discover the history of glass.

    Birth, processing and recycling of glass have been told in leaflets in which "the glass magician" accompanied children through the story of this useful and safe material. In a space dedicated to children, they have discovered how glass is made and the natural elements such as sand, soda and minerals that are used to color it. Besides, all visitors had the chance to touch by hand the elements.

    In addition, children received a present after compiling a simple quiz an exclusive glass and a balloon personalized with the logo of the magician.

    The Bormioli Rocco stand was a huge success of public. Children learnt how important is recycling and hence how not to harm our planet.

    The company took the chance to present the new Spring Summer 2013 collection of water tumblers: Giove and Multicolor lines, with new colors such as blue and yellow.
