Local energy company donates $10k to Brooklyn-based food pantry and mobile soup kitchen to help combat community hunger.
New York, NY (1888PressRelease) January 11, 2014 - Great Eastern Energy (GEE) has announced that it will be donating $10,000 to St. John's Bread and Life as a charitable contribution on behalf of their clients and partners.
St. John's Bread and Life serves over 3,500 meals a day to hungry New Yorkers through their Brooklyn facility and Mobile Soup Kitchen. They have been a client of Great Eastern Energy's since 2010.
In comments made available to the public, GEE's Managing Member Allan Brenner said "For many, the meals that St. John's Bread and Life provide are the only meals they have. Our contribution this holiday season will help St. John's Bread and Life in their goal to combat poverty and help people achieve self-sufficiency."
GEE has long supported the New York community with charitable contributions spanning the last 17 years. In lieu of sending holiday gift baskets, GEE launched "The Gift of Giving" program in 2012, which donates $10,000 in their clients' names to a local community cause.
Great Eastern Energy provides custom energy procurement and management solutions to businesses and homeowners in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. GEE's energy advisors work with organizations like St. John's Bread and Life to manage energy costs and increase efficiencies.
