First day of the summit focused on implementing sustainability across Dubai parks; landscaping from a private developer's perspective; design with nature; impact of urban spaces on public health; ecological restoration; sustainable landscape architecture; use of aerial drones for landscape architecture; artificial turf; irrigation solutions; adversity in landscape construction in UAE; living systems in Singapore; systems for productive and edible landscapes.

The discussion on the first day discussed about artificial grass and its use in sports and recreational facilities in the Middle East with the theme, "Why Artificial Grass makes sense for the Sports and Recreational facilities of Middle East" it tackles the challenges and opportunities involved in using artificial grass in both the segments of sports and landscape for the arid region of Middle East.
Thomas Buscheinen, Senior Advisor of GrassCo represented the company together with the other panelist from other industries; Andrew Anderson, Landscape Architect from Oman Botanic Garden of Diwan of Royal Court, Peter Scott, Manager, Urban Planning & Landscape Architecture Department, Khatib & Alami and Steven Velegrinis, Director of Urban Design, Perkins+Will.
The summit was attended by over 400 including prominent personalities, dignitaries, senior level landscape architects, government authorities, urban planners, developers, environmental specialists and contractors from across the GCC, the two-day summit features sessions on developments in sustainable landscaping in the region, ranging from greening initiatives, landscape design, architecture and construction, to artificial turf, irrigation, urban green spaces and ecological restoration. The agenda features over 20 sessions, including speeches, case studies and panel discussions which GrassCo (member of Al Sorayai Group) is proud as one of the panelist last 28th April 2015.
