Graphic Designer Ashley Slaby Nominated in National Package Design Contest
Archer Graphic Designer nominated in a National Design Contest.
- Rochester, NY (1888PressRelease) July 22, 2015 - We are excited to announce that our Graphic Designer, Ashley Slaby has been nominated as finalist in the Paperboard Packaging Alliance 2015 Student Design Challenge.
Teams from across the nation were tasked with designing an innovative, limited edition toy package that can also be reused as an interactive structure for the toy. The package was to promote the lead character and theme of a children's movie, address sustainability, have visible distinctions that set the toy apart from others, among other requirements.
Ashley's team, comprised of five RIT students, chose to create its packaging based on the 2014 movie The Book of Life. The sugar skull package they created is actually the toy. Inside the package holds markers, stencils, and accessories to help kids design their sugar skull. There is also a mini Book of Life to educate kids about Day of the Dead.
"Archer is very proud of Ashley's accomplishments as a designer," says Carrie Tschetter, President. "We are confident that she will continue to produce designs worthy of such recognition."
Ashley Slaby is a graphic designer at Archer Communications. She has worked on projects including the Corn Hill Arts Festival Selfie Mat and LNB's Hometown Advantage brochure. She received her Associate's Degree from Monroe Community College, and her Bachelors from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Graphic Design.
