  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) January 19, 2018 - On Saturday, January 13th, Mr. Christopher King, Grandson of Blues Legend BB King, launched the Gentlemen’s Course and cut the ribbon at Kings Forest Recreation Center in Tampa, FL. The Gentlemen’s Course is a program to teach youth proper etiquette and their human rights, in partnership with United for Human Rights.

“We are very excited to now be in full swing with the Gentlemen’s Course,” said Mr. King, “especially now that we have access to this recreation center to deliver the program in.”

The launch and ribbon cutting started with a dance and song by students of Delphi Academy, a local private school. This was followed by an introduction to the program by Mr. Christopher King. Mr. King thanked Safe and Sound Hillsborough for the use of the Kings Forest Recreation Center. Then Ms. Emma Ashton, Executive Director of United for Human Rights Florida, thanked the guests for attending and gave a description of their human rights educational program.

“We are very happy to partner with an organization such as the Gentlemen’s Course and an individual like Mr. Christopher King,” said Ms. Ashton. “Our goal at United for Human Rights is to create valuable advocates for peace and tolerance and that is exactly what Mr. King forwards with his program.”

After the ribbon cutting, Mr. King met one on one with parents and explained the program in further detail. He then did the first Gentlemen’s Course seminar in the newly acquired center, showing parents and youth in attendance first-hand experience with the program.
