Grandell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a renowned skilled nursing facility in New York, is proudly joining the Case Management Society of America in celebration of the Ninth Annual Case Management Week from October 13-19th.
- (1888PressRelease) October 19, 2013 - National Case Management Week is intended to applaud the work of case managers and their role in the continued care of patients. Case managers are responsible for patient education, overseeing transfer and discharge procedures and verifying that insurances are active and relevant to the patient, among a host of other things.
The celebration extends to all members of the healthcare community, including hospitals and managed care organizations, just to name a couple. During the week, these healthcare entities sponsor educational events to raise awareness of the job that case managers do and their role in the care of patients and residents.
The work that case managers do often overlaps with the work of social workers, who are more publicly recognized, leading to the work of case managers often going unnoticed. It is in this spirit of gratitude and respect that the healthcare community celebrates National Case Management Week.
