Grand Pacific Resorts Partners with Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe to Provide "Furrever" Homes
Animal Shelter Receives $1,200 from Timeshare Management Company to Support Its Lifesaving Work with Cats and Dogs in Lake Tahoe Community.
- (1888PressRelease) July 23, 2015 - TRUCKEE, CA - Grand Pacific Resorts, a timeshare management company with three resorts in the Lake Tahoe area, presented the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe with a $1,200 check at its new facility on June 17, 2015, to support the organization's animal rescue and adoption programs. The presentation came at the conclusion of a two-day scavenger hunt involving four travel bloggers, who competed to raise funds for the shelter and the League to Save Lake Tahoe, the non-profit behind the international Keep Tahoe Blue campaign.
"Families are at the heart of what we do," explained Renee Wagner, RRP, Director of Marketing at Grand Pacific Resorts, "And at the heart of many families is a beloved pet. We believe every cat and dog deserves a 'furrever' home. That's why we're proud to support the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe."
Wagner presented the check to Dale Lawrence, Development Manager, and Kara Carstensen, Adoption Specialist and Community Spay/Neuter Program Manager, who were accompanied by several of the shelter's canine beneficiaries. A video of the check presentation is now available.
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe will use the donation to continue its local programs, which include animal adoptions, pet-assisted therapy, and low-cost spay and neuter services. According to Lawrence, "It's thanks to generous donors like Grand Pacific Resorts that the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is able to save so many lives. This donation will provide food, vaccinations, and spay or neuter surgeries for a litter of puppies and their mother."
ResorTime, the rental site for Grand Pacific Resorts, is also featured on the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe with the opportunity for it to receive a second donation. ResorTime hosts a quarterly giving program, beCause Destination Matters, in which its guests vote for their favorite non-profit to receive $2,500. Recent recipients include the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Pacific Cancer Fitness.
