Grand Opening Held for Minnetonka ICA Food Shelf Featuring Grocery Model
The ICA Food Shelf held the official Grand Opening of its new Minnetonka location on Tuesday, July 22nd. The new location incorporates an innovative and unprecedented grocery store model. Sempris, LLC made a $5,000 donation to the General Renovation Fund for construction of the new facility in 2013.
- (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2014 - The official Grand Opening of the new ICA Food Shelf was held on Tuesday, July 22, at its new location on K-Tel Drive in Minnetonka, Minn. Sempris, LLC was recognized on the capital campaign donor wall at the new site, for its $5,000 donation to the General Renovation Fund in 2013.
The new facility looks and feels like a classic grocery store, and utilizes a point system that allows for frequent trips to the food shelf, once a week, rather than the typical once a month.
"This approach will give clients greater flexibility in choosing the groceries they need to feed their families," said Jayson Palm, Associate Director of the ICA Food Shelf. "It also continues to put the freshest produce and perishable items into their carts."

ICA Food Shelf is a social service agency that offers food, financial assistance, job counseling and referrals to families in the western suburbs of Minneapolis.
