Grand launch of the three-day 'Toycathon 2021' at ITM University, Raipur
ITM University was the Only University Nodal Centre for Toycathon 2021 in Chhattisgarh. The inauguration ceremony was grand.
- (1888PressRelease) July 27, 2021 - The grand finale of the three-day toy-making challenge 'Toycathon 2021', which promotes indigenous toy manufacturing and game coding under the Atma-Nirbhar Bharat campaign, was inaugurated on Tuesday, 22nd June 2021 at ITM University, Raipur. PURC Chairman Dr. Shiv Varan Shukla was present as the chief guest at the local inauguration ceremony of the nodal center Raipur. Honourable Vice-Chancellor of ITM University, Dr. Vikas Singh presided over the program. Dr. Ishwar Kumar, Professor at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Gandhinagar, Gujarat was present as a guest of honour.
The national competition is being organized on the digital platform from June 22nd to June 24th by the Ministry of Education innovation cell in association with seven ministries to bring the cultural heritage and mythology of India alive through toys. On this occasion, Dr. Vikas Singh while congratulating the participating teams said that this competition is a grand gathering of youngsters, youth, teachers, start-ups and experts, and businessmen related to toys. With this, there will be excellent results due to good coordination between the educational institutions and industries of the country. PURC Chairman Dr. Shivvaran Shukla said that it is a very proud moment for the ITM University and the entire Chhattisgarh state due to this opportunity to host the three-day 'Toycathon 2021'. The main objective of this program is to develop the spirit of self-reliance and creativity in youngsters under the self-reliant India scheme of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Dr. Ishwar Kumar of EDII Gandhinagar said that at present 80 percent of the country's toy market is imported from China. In view of this, it is a great business opportunity for India through such idea generation activities and start-up projects.
Dr. Satya Prakash Makhija, Head of the Department, School of Engineering and Research, further informed about the various phases of the three-day program and introduced the members of the jury. He also informed about the participation of various teams from different states like Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The program was conducted by Prof. Shanta Das and Prof. Shyamali Naidu and finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Neelima Bagde.
