Graduate Reference Curriculum for Systems Engineering Version 1.0 Released
The Graduate Reference Curriculum for Systems Engineering (GRCSE™) Version 1.0 has been released and is now available worldwide at http://www.bkcase.org/grcse. This concludes a three-year project.
- Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) December 29, 2012 - GRCSE is a set of recommendations for the development and implementation of a systems-centric professional master's degree program in systems engineering (SE). It is one of two products of a larger project, the Body of Knowledge and Curriculum to Advance Systems Engineering (BKCASE™). The other BKCASE product, which was released before GRCSE and on which GRCSE draws, is the Guide to the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK) (www.sebokwiki.org).
The IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Systems Council, the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Systems Engineering Division provided representatives to serve as authors for the BKCASE project. The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) provided review comments.
The BKCASE Governing Board has been convened and recently held its first meeting, and the group is in the process of forming the BKCASE Editorial Board for SEBoK and GRCSE.
A micro update to GRCSE is projected for Spring 2013 to incorporate errata and to fix other minor issues. A more substantial update is anticipated every third year.
