Gov. Bev Perdue Proclaims Veterinary Science Year As Part Of World Veterinary Year Celebrations
Commemorative Events Will Take Place Worldwide Throughout 2011.

Bev Perdue has signed a proclamation announcing Veterinary Science Year as part of World Veterinary Year. The yearlong celebration supports the goals and ideals of World Veterinary Year by bringing attention to and showing appreciation for the contributions that the veterinary profession has made and continues to make to animal health, public health and food safety. This year marks the 250th anniversary of the veterinary profession. World Veterinary Year events will be taking place around the world to commemorate this anniversary. The official opening ceremony took place in Versailles, France, on Jan. 24, 2011.
