Gospel Music Star Debuts New Album In Birmingham For Children's Benefit Concert
Award-nominated Christian singer Canton Jones will perform in Birmingham, AL, at a free concert benefiting the Children's Miracle Network. He is also debuting his new album exclusively in Birmingham.
- Birmingham, AL (1888PressRelease) January 06, 2011 - Grammy- Stellar- and Dove-nominated Christian songwriter and producer Canton Jones is the featured headliner in a free Jan. 29 concert at Boutwell Auditorium to celebrate children cancer survivors and to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
Golden Corral, a longtime supporter of the Children's Miracle Network Campaign, is hosting a series of special luncheons and concerts organized only in the Magic City, where Jones will debut his newest album, Dominionaire, that hits stores on Feb.1.
Telisa Stinson of SpecialTes -- a veteran executive in the gospel music industry and talent coordinator for this great venture -- said she was excited about linking Jones' album release to such a special event. "This is a wonderful opportunity to partner Birmingham's Golden Corral restaurants with an innovative music promotion. We are marrying Gospel music's 'Holy Helping Hands' to a major corporation that gives back to the community by supporting causes like the Children's Miracle Network."
Jones' urban R&B music, tinged with hip-hop strains, is as diverse as the crowds that he reaches monthly at "The Basement," a phenomenal Birmingham Christian movement that outgrew previous spaces over the years and now meets at Church of the Highlands.
Bessie Bell, Golden Corral's local store marketing director and CEO of Just Be Reel Marketing Agency, helped create and coordinate the concert event. "One of the things that Golden Corral loves most about being a part of the Birmingham community is the diversity of its people and the power that they have to reach out to help one another." The event is also sponsored in part by Aaron's Sales and Leasing.
In addition to his concert appearance, Jones is scheduled to visit children at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. And he will make a special presentation to Kameron Hardy, a nine-year-old cancer survivor battling retinoblastoma and leukemia.
Jones headlines a slate of Birmingham-based Christian performers at the concert, which starts at 5 p.m.
