  • Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland, MI (1888PressRelease) November 10, 2007 - In the words of Patti Wisniewski, the owner of the Grand Rapids Accents Gallery & Supplies, Alina Cardiae, originally from Poland, “is now living in Grand Rapids and displays her stunning portrait photography” in America. Alina has been honored by Patti to become a Featured Artist at her gallery.

On Thursday November 8, 2007 Patti had a Featured Artist Reception & Photography Show for Alina.

On moving to the US in May 2006, Alina has frequently expressed an enormous potential that she noticed in this country. “Every day I meet so many pretty girls here who have nice faces and hair,” Alina said.

“Femina pulchra est” (woman is beautiful) - the Latin phrase says. Not everybody, however, feels pretty themselves in the United States. Occasionally you meet women and men who feel very self-conscious about their bodies. “I am not photogenic at all”, a Michigan blonde girl says.

What is general knowledge – that only pop and movie stars deserve to look stunning – Alina tries to convince her West Michigan customers that virtually anyone can look the same way: GLAMOROUS. She says that the same person photographed by different people will definitely look in a million different ways. “The secret to being photogenic”, Alina says, “is the photographer themselves. The way you see the person in the first place, the lighting you use, the personal contact you have with the client, and the post-processing you do to the picture as the last step matters more than anyone imagines.”

Alina believes that nothing that's human is foreign to .. humans. Everybody has the right to have some blemishes on their bodies. That, however, is not a problem for her. She is not only a gifted photographer, but also a skilled airbrush artist. All images are brought to perfection before printing, no pimple or excessive body weight is left in the picture. She also adds color to the hair and facial make-up if necessary.

Alina truly wants Americans to believe that they can ALL look glamorous, if only they choose to do so, and they do not necessarily have to be famous national stars.
