Google Nexus S Hits the UK Market at Carphone Warehouse
Long awaited Google android phone running on latest version of 2.3 Android Gingerbread OS is now available in UK.
- (1888PressRelease) December 16, 2010 - Google Nexus S fans should rejoice as the brand new Google Android 2.3 mobile phone is now available in the United Kingdom. It is the first smartphone to run on the latest Google Gingerbread operating system. The phone has been manufactured by Samsung and is available exclusive at Carphone Warehouse under various pay monthly contract plans on T-Mobile, O2, Orange and Vodafone networks.
The device is equipped with the latest technology including the super AMOLED touch screen display, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread and NFC technology. Nexus S also offers a redesigned interface, keyboard and better battery consumption capacity.
Termed as "Pure Google" by Google, Samsung Nexus S packs a number of Google apps and services with no third-party detritus. It is the first device to run Google's latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and includes two cameras. The first is a five-megapixel digital camera placed at the back of the handset and the other, with a lower resolution, is located at the front for making video calls.
One of the features of Nexus S phones worth mentioning is the support for a technology known as near-field communications (NFC). This feature allows the device to communicate wirelessly with other NFC equipped devices that are no more than 4 inches away.
Setting up the phone is not at all difficult for users who use Google online services. Once you enter your Google account name and password, the Android automatically configures your Google accounts such as Gmail and Google Calendar.
The device is out in the UK market and can be obtained for free under pay monthly contract offers for as low as £35 a month.
