GoodGirlPR Welcomes the Richard Beavers Gallery
GoodGirlPR announces its newest client, Brooklyn art gallery Richard Beavers Gallery.
- (1888PressRelease) October 12, 2017 - GoodGirlPR is pleased to announce the addition of the Richard Beavers Gallery located in the heart of Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn to its PR roster. The gallery not only represents over 10 artists but also serves as a cornerstone of the local Brooklyn community.
Coming off of a three-month run at The African American Museum in Philadelphia, Church of Broken Pieces is currently exhibiting at the Richard Beavers Gallery. Church of Broken Pieces is a collection of vivid images by photographer Shawn Theodore, a Philadelphia-based, multidisciplinary artist working in photography, video, and collage. His practice embodies a defiant brand of black artistry - one that focuses on the fragmentation and manipulation of African American and African Diaspora identities and otherness, while exploring concepts of race, spirituality, patriarchy, matriarchy, and class structure within disappearing Black communities. Shawn’s images have been selected as the lead photograph for the second time by Apple’s Instagram page, Another image, “Being Black Outweighs One’s Blues,” was selected as the cover of the September 2016 issue of Smithsonian Magazines, which announced the grand opening of the National Museum of African American History & Culture.
