All net proceeds go to support local families touched by pediatric cancer.
BraveHearts for Kids was founded in 2008 by Jeremy and Amy Jacobs after their own daughter Ava was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma brain tumor at only 13 months old. In a recent interview, Jeremy describes: "That moment changed our lives down to the very core of our being. The journey we traveled brought us to our knees, shattering our paradigms of everything we knew as "normal".
Through the help of others and the best doctors and hospital care; today their daughter is a sunny 9-year-old girl --- an honor student, a soccer star, and cancer free. When asked why after so many years they continue to go fight for other kids with Pediatric Cancer, Jeremy quietly responded, "As we watched the miracle of our daughter's recovery unfold, and witnessed so many others suffer… we promised ourselves that we would do anything we could to try and help the next family to afford the very best care available." Bravehearts for Kids continues to make good on that promise. Since 2008 they have given support and money to families in dire-straights.
FORETHEKIDS will expand this promise to McHenry County families. Sherry Johnson, Board VP explained "We chose Turnberry Country Club for their reputation for outstanding all-around service. We wanted this day to be very special for everyone involved as we honor the contributions of our Sponsors, Players, and Dinner guests.
