Golf and Grapes Foundation Third Annual Clambake for A Cure Charity Event
Save the Date! Friday, February 10, 2012 in conjunction with the AT&T Pro Am in Pebble Beach, the Golf & Grapes Foundation is set to host their Third Annual Clambake for a Cure charity event.
- Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) January 09, 2012 - In the spirit of "The Crosby" clambakes of old, and scheduled to be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 in conjunction with the AT&T Pro Am in Pebble Beach, the Golf & Grapes Foundation is set to host their Third Annual Clambake for a Cure charity event. This year the event will be held upstairs at 30 Old Fisherman's Wharf, at the Marina View Lounge overlooking the beautiful Monterey Bay from 4 PM to 9 PM. With easy access, a panoramic view of Monterey Bay, and plenty of parking, this is an evening not to be missed.
Proceeds from the Golf & Grapes Clambake for a Cure go to benefit brain tumor research and treatment through the Musella Foundation www.virtualtrials.com, an organization that stays on the forefront of cutting edge brain tumor research in order to help find a cure.
Immediately following the second round of the AT&T Pro Am, attendees will join in the fun as they mingle with celebrities and sports professionals, PGA Tour Players, and award winning chefs who are preparing specialty dishes alongside local and Napa wineries in support of the cure. The event will consist of a strolling dinner prepared by amazing Celebrity Chefs who will dish up their best selections. In keeping with the clambake theme, of course there will be clam dishes, as well as a variety of other delicious selections. Excellent wines will be served throughout the evening from host Jocelyn Lonen Winery as well as other participating Monterey and Napa wineries. Guests will local entertainment as they participate in bidding on exciting raffle and auction items. Some of the raffle items include Magnum passes for the Pebble Beach Food & Wine and LA Food & Wine events, Golf for 4 at the prestigious members only Santa Lucia Preserve Golf Course in Carmel Valley, and VIP passes for 4 to the members only Club 33 in Disneyland!

Golf & Grapes Clambake for a Cure was founded by Jocelyn Lonen Winery owner Brandi Jocelyn Pack who, along with her mother, Susan Curtis, further the vision of their late father, husband, and winery founder Lonen Curtis, who lost his battle with a brain tumor (GBM) at age 56. The late Senator Ted Kennedy also lost his life to a GBM, as did Tug McGraw, father of singer/actor Tim McGraw and PGA Tour Pro Steve Ballesteros.
Susan Curtis, Lonen's widow, formerly of Carmel, currently lives in Napa. Susan is an avid golfer on the Central Coast. The winery supports many local charities here on the Central Coast.
Facts about Musella Foundation and Brain Tumors: Every day 500 people are diagnosed with a brain tumor. The most common brain tumor, and the most deadly, is Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). When active, this brain tumor doubles itself in size every eleven days, making the average life span after diagnosis only six to nine months.
