Goldwater Global Management Gives Back to Environment to Counteract Industry's Environmental Impact
Goldwater Global Management, a leading commodity futures and options company in the industry today has kicked off environmental initiative to compensate and at least neutralize the effect of the commodity futures and options industry to the environment through its Go Green Futures program.
- (1888PressRelease) January 28, 2012 - This program is in partnership with selected environmental advocates and non-governmental organizations which aims to replant trees and replenish those already used up trees in the selected forests of United States in order to continuously preserve the global rainforests.
Every time a new trading account is successfully opened at Goldwater Global Management, the firm will take the initiative to plant trees in selected forest areas in the United states, particularly in those areas that are smashed by wild fires, diseases and insects. Also, Goldwater Global Management will make financial donations conserve at least 250 square feet of rainforest. This program is also in agreement with the current paper and computer recycling program of Goldwater Global Management as it seeks to promote a new phase of environmental accountability in the futures and commodities industry.
With the program called Go Green Futures, Goldwater Global Management expects to refinish damaged rainforests in the United States before this current year ends. The program will also be hiring few individuals near the reforestation sites to supervise and observe the growth of the replanted trees. Their responsibilities will only by cut-off until finally the trees are already grown up. The program will not only be exclusive to the rainforests of the United States as the firm is also eyeing partnerships from other local environmental groups in countries where Goldwater Global Management actively operates.
"From the never-ending flows of ticker tape many decades ago to the endless harvesting of lumber, mining of metals, and non-stop drilling of oil today, the industry of the futures and commodities trading have played a part in the diminution of the earth's natural resources. With Go Green Futures program, we do not only hop to do our share in the preservation of our mother earth but we also ultimately promote a total change in this industry and become defenders of the mother earth in the next years to come," said Mr. John Jacobs , President of Goldwater Global Management.
"Aside from the global and environmental effects of accumulating the commodities traded in the futures and options markets, we also witnessed the worst forest wild fire season on record, blazing nearly 10 million acres of land and requiring a need for replanting millions of trees that are burnt. And with more than 100 thousand acres of rain forests depleted every day, we believe that this is the right time to act to save mother earth," added Jacobs.
