Goalkeeper for Wolves Football Club Appointed WhatHouse.co.uk Ambassador
The goalkeeper from the Wolverhampton Wanders football team, Matt Murray, has been appointing the official ambassador for WhatHouse.co.uk, the UK property portal for new build houses.
- (1888PressRelease) July 14, 2013 - The goalkeeper from the Wolverhampton Wanders football team has been appointing the official ambassador for WhatHouse.co.uk. The property portal is the main advertising sponsor for the Midlands football club. Matt Murray first started to play for the football team at the tender age of nine and worked his way up to play for the premier team. However, by the age of 29 injuries had forced him to retire. He had been tipped to become one of the best international goalkeepers around.
Murray was born in Solihull, in the Midlands and through his football career is well connected to other famous football players including Robbie Keane, who is captain of the Irish team and his former team mates from the Wolves such as Paul Ince and Jolean Lescott.
Murray is now married with three daughters and says he is delighted and honoured to be the WhatHouse ambassador. He is quoted as saying "I love the website with its mix of listings, daily news and digital magazine and the fact that it is purely about new homes and not diluted by the second-hand market."
He also insists he has only ever lived in new build houses and knows that several of his former team mates have bought luxury new build homes through Banner developments, who feature on the WhatHouse property portal. The announcement was made from the show apartment of the new Orchard Development in Clerkenwell, East London.
Footballers are known for their love of luxury houses and also with their careers they also move around a lot. They tend to want all the mod cons and have all the latest technology installed.
Last season the WhatHouse brand was advertised on the back of the football strip. This season it is blazoned across the front.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers have suffered from relegation in the last few seasons, having once been one of the greatest football teams in the UK. But it is hoped that with a new head coach and a new sponsor on Whathouse.co.uk, the Wolves return to the form they once had.
Matt Murray has long term ambitions to some day manage the team he used to play for but for now is a regular commentator on Sky Sports. He will also be writing for the Daily Express and Star, one of the UK's largest selling daily newspapers in association with WhatHouse and will be blogging for the property portal as well as interacting with website visitors, businesses and supporters. There will be regular competitions on the website to win tickets to see the Wolves as well as give aways for signed shirts and footballs.
The WhatHouse brand continues to raise its profile through the association with the Wolves football team and will have a web page dedicated to the team during the football season.
