(1888PressRelease) September 19, 2011 - GMO Hosting & Security subsidiary and Digital Certificate service operator, GlobalSign today announced that it has formed a business partnership and signed a deal with V-SIGN, the co-operator of the only public Certificate Authority (CA) for government in Vietnam, licensed under Vietnamese electronic signature law.

Currently, Vietnam is investing significantly in the development and deployment of e-Government solutions. The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has a number of projects underway and their Digital Certificate infrastructure is essential to providing e-Government security. The VNPT alliance, the only digital authentication service provider licensed under Vietnamese electronic signature law to operate a public CA, is committed to providing substantial CA operations.

Under the deal between the two companies GlobalSign will provide V-SIGN with Certificate Authority operational support and wide-ranging consultation services. The business agreement between GlobalSign and V-SIGN marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership that will explore CA projects in Vietnam.

With a proven track record of over ten years, GlobalSign has previously provided e-Government solutions for Belgium and New Zealand. The new V-SIGN alliance will allow GlobalSign to offer Certificate Authority construction and operational support.
