Global Private Equity Leaders To Meet In Mumbai To Discuss India's Changing Business Landscape
India's largest Private Equity Event - the AVCJ Private Equity & Venture India Forum - to begin on 5th December, 2013
- (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2013 - Private equity leaders from across the globe will converge in Mumbai on December 05 and 06, 2013 at India's largest and most prestigious private equity event, The AVCJ Private Equity & Venture India Forum.
This two-day India-focused forum will bring India's most respected and successful private equity leaders together to discuss the changing business landscape in the country and analyse opportunities lying therein.
Over 250 executives, including India's largest GPs and foreign institutional investors, will join the conference.
Some of the leading speakers at the event include Ananta Barua of The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director and CEO of The Bombay Stock Exchange, B V Krishnan, Managing Director of KKR, Markus Albeitinger, Managing Director and Co-head of Investment Management in Asia of Capital Dynamics, Manish Kejriwal, Managing Partner of Kedaara Capital Advisors, Suresh Goyal, CEO and Managing Director of SBI Macquarie Infrastructure Management, and Padmanabh (Paddy) Sinha, Managing Partner of TATA Opportunities Fund.
India's private equity industry is in a state of transition and many now believe that only adaptive funds will ultimately survive. Half a decade after the frothy vintages of 2006-2007, there is an industry-wide realization that private equity must evolve in India to cope with an uneven performance record and a weakened economy by consolidating and tweaking everything from fund raising methods, to portfolio management, and even exit vehicles. While changes are beginning to happen in the margins, investment cycles and the unwinding of portfolio companies dictate that this transformation will take time.
Against this backdrop, this year's Forum will analyse how successfully GPs have prospered in India's turbulent environment and what others must do to adapt and triumph.
"The AVCJ India Forum is a wonderful event. My own experience was very pleasant and I believe the conference is able to attract a lot of talented and relevant people", said Navin M. Baby, Vice President of Investments at Khalid Ali Alturki & Sons Co.
