Global Monitoring To Field Test its 'Remote Possibilities' Technology while Biking for a Cause
Global Monitoring, leading supplier of industrial remote monitoring and control systems, will field test its next-generation wireless remote monitoring technology at the 65 mile American Cancer Society 41st Bikeathon in Philadelphia on Sunday, July 14th.
- (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2013 - Each member of the Global Monitoring cycling team will be equipped with miniature battery-powered sensor pods that can collect bio-medical, bike performance and GPS data and transmit that data through a secure link to a Messenger Gateway carried by the team captain. The gateway both records and transmits the data over the internet to the team's home office.
The technology demonstrated in this field test, according to Global Monitoring Founder and CEO Steve Sanislo, has practical applications that extend to more serious outdoor activities involving teams of people operating equipment - applications involving heavy equipment, construction and emergency response. This technology will help ensure both the safety of the individual and the efficient operation of their equipment.
"Understanding that no single technology can satisfy every remote monitoring application, we designed this system with cellular, satellite and Wi-Fi communications options," notes Steve. "The American Cancer Society Bikeathon gives us a good opportunity to both field test our new technology while contributing to a good cause."
Global's other remote monitors are designed to track and react to conditions at remote, unattended or inaccessible locations, providing status reports, service messages and much more. All Messenger Remote Monitors are configurable to a wide variety of sensor types to track conditions such as such temperature, humidity, voltage, air quality, sound level, occupancy, vibration, level and flow to perform various remote control tasks. Data from any site can be accessed via a web browser or configured for download to a smart phone.
Global Monitoring plans to release its next generation of Messenger "Gateway" Remote Monitors by October, 2013. For more information about the Messenger™ Remote Monitors, contact the company at contactus ( @ ) globalmonitoring dot com dot
