Glen Road Systems, Inc. & Invata Intralogistics Announce Merger Agreement
Merger Combines GRSI Advanced Supply Chain Automation Software Suite with Invata's System Integration Capabilities.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) April 01, 2011 - GRSI, a global provider of supply chain execution software, distribution center automation and system integration; and Invata Intralogistics, Inc., a global provider of supply chain optimization, facilities integration, software and controls today announced the merger of the two companies. GRSI and Invata have a successful 10-year working relationship and are expecting to achieve synergies and benefits from the merger deal.
In preparation for the merger, the two companies conducted extensive research into the needs of the marketplace. Supply chain and C-level leaders across a broad range of target markets were interviewed about their attitudes and experiences related to large asset-based system integrators, those integrators with in-house supply chain software and controls, and dealer channel integrators. Study results were a key factor in the unanimous agreement by company directors to conclude the merger agreement.
GRSI is the developer of FastTrak WM+™, a mature and extensive warehouse management suite that seamlessly integrates traditional WMS functionality with a Warehouse Control System (WCS), Order Management System (OMS) and Packaging Integration (PI) applications. The highly differentiated approach closely couples real-time controls with inventory management, creating a seamless, highly responsive application. "Our approach to managing inventory in motion is essential as companies implement more sophisticated automation projects. The traditional WMS suppliers are simply too removed from these sophisticated devices to manage them efficiently or cost-effectively" said Steve Martyn, CEO of GRSI.
In addition to its focus on logistics network optimization, Invata is a system integrator with in-house software products and services. "The company views the market through a different lens than typical integrators," said Invata CEO Ryan Sheehan. "We approach the market with a focus on inventory, transportation, infrastructure and labor - emphasizing optimization and results. Since we are not constrained by the asset-heavy investment in plant and equipment that requires us to push mechanization products, we are able to invest in the best people and technology to meet the needs of our clients."
The company will be merging its management teams, forming a single company. Based on its research data, the company will go to market through two sales channels: the Invata brand will continue to be sold through its direct sales channel, and the GRSI brand will continue to be promoted through select, high performance dealer integrators.
A number of software, pick/put-to-light and voice-directed tactical solutions recently acquired from Cape Systems are also being folded into the new structure and are available through the company sales channels.
