GizmoSphere Goes To Europe As A Participant In Embedded World
Free GizmoSphere-centric demos at Embedded World 2013 include how to develop and debug the Android environment on the Gizmo platform, and how "microcontroller meets supercomputer" through the Gizmo development board.
- (1888PressRelease) February 27, 2013 - Representatives of GizmoSphere are on hand at Embedded World 2013 in Nuremberg, Germany this week to meet with the international embedded community and show what embedded developers can accomplish using the x86-based Gizmo development board. Visitors can stop by the AMD stand for prizes and free training sessions including Microcontroller Meets Supercomputer, presented by Sage Electronic Engineering, and Advanced Android Development & Debug on Gizmo, presented by Viosoft.
All three companies - AMD, Sage, and Viosoft - are GizmoSphere partners, contributing time, talent and resources to make GizmoSphere possible. A fourth partner, Texas Multicore Technologies, is also participating in the exhibition and conference, sharing its expertise in parallelization and multicore architectures.
GizmoSphere is a recently launched initiative that embraces the model of open source software and hardware and engages a worldwide community of embedded developers. At the heart of GizmoSphere is Gizmo, a 4-inch by 4-inch x86 development board available with corebootŪ and offered as part of a comprehensive development kit. Delivering 52.8 gigaflops while operating at less than 10 watts, the Gizmo board merges the power of a supercomputer with the I/O functionality of a microcontroller, which is fully explained in the Microcontroller Meets Supercomputer session.
Meanwhile the Advanced Android Development & Debug on Gizmo session reveals how to develop and debug the Android environment on the Gizmo platform, from the Linux kernel through Java applications and everything in between, within a single, multilingual environment. These and additional free sessions are being offered all three days of the conference (February 26 - 28).
