- (1888PressRelease) December 06, 2014 - Italian fashion house, Giorgio Fedon 1919 has donated the first production model of the Space Explorer watch to raise funds for Earth Island Institute. The watch was designed in coordination with SpaceTek, and is the official timepiece of SpaceTek's Private Space Station. It comes displayed in a luxurious box autographed by former NASA Astronaut, Clayton Anderson and is to be auction through 17 December via the CharityBuzz website.
Giorgio Fedon, a luxury Italian leather goods house, established in 1919, has branched in to the watch segment. Fedon time pieces are manufactured by MCW LLC, headed by Ramesh Jhnunjhnuwala, a Hong Kong based businessman, who stated, "We are proud to support such a worthy cause with our first production model and is a perfect fit with our Corporate Social Responsibility program."
Giorgio Fedon operates in over 30 countries and has seven flagship stores around the globe. The brand is synonymous with elegance and practicality, a union often desired but rarely achieved. Since 2011, Giorgio Fedon has expanded its luxury line to include high quality timepieces.
The Earth Island Institute is non-profit environmental group founded in 1982 by David Brower. Located in Berkeley, California, it supports activism around environmental issues through fiscal sponsorship that provides the administrative and organizational infrastructure for individual projects.
