  • (1888PressRelease) February 20, 2025 - Gift of Life Marrow Registry, will host its 5th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament on Monday, February 24 at Breakers West Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. Former professional athletes, sports fans and community members will unite to support the fight against blood cancers and other life-threatening diseases.

    Attendees will have the chance to witness the heartfelt introduction of a 58-year-old transplant recipient—an attorney and leukemia survivor from Parkland, Fla.—to the Gift of Life donor who saved his life.

    NFL legends and fan favorites inlcuding Woody Bennett, Bob Brudzinski, Kijana Carter, Travis Daniels, Troy Drayton, Pierre Garcon, Kerry Glen, Sean Hill, James McKnight, Tim McKyer, Duane Starks, Jed Weaver and others will be hitting the links, joined by NHL alumni including Florida Panthers Radio Color Analyst Bill Lindsay and Bob Nystrom.

    The golf scramble tournament includes 18 holes of championship golf, a celebrity meet-and-greet and a cocktail reception with a silent auction.

    The event will also feature a special moment to recognize the contributions of those dedicated to fighting blood-related diseases, including golf tournament chair, Mindy Schneider, and committee members, Edward Blumenfeld, Barry Breslau, Peter Cohen, Dr. Stephen Colen, Ignacio Edenburg, Evie Goldfine, Donna Krasner, Katerina Luttner, Kurt Lunkenheimer, Gav Martell, Detective Christopher Mitchell, Dr. Brooke Owens and Paul Robinson, Stephen Siegel, Dr. Michael Steinberg and Mitchell Stern.

    Participants and attendees will have the opportunity to join the Gift of Life registry on-site through a simple cheek swab. All proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization, helping to expand the number of potential donors and increasing the chances of finding a life-saving match for patients battling diseases like leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell anemia.
