GESIA Announces Office Bearers For Upcoming Year
The association hosted a grand event to share its achievements and the list of new office bearers.
- (1888PressRelease) August 14, 2012 - Gujarat Electronics & Software Industries Association(GESIA), on having recently concluded its 15th Annual General Meeting, charted-out its ambitious future roadmap, and announced the new office bearers and the formation of its new Executive Committee for the year 2012-2013. The new office bearers of GESIA shared with the audience the milestones that they have achieved in their journey so far. Acting as a bridge between all stake holders to promote growth and welfare of IT (Software & Hardware), ITES (BPO/KPO), Electronics, Telecom, ISP & IT Education Industry in Gujarat; GESIA has to its credit many achievements in bringing the state at the forefront of ICT industry in India.
Some of the major milestones of the association from last year include initiating regular talks with the government on growth stimulant policies and recommendations for the new IT policy as well as branding of Gujarat IT sector on an international level via participation in seminars and other trade shows. In fact as part of their goals for the upcoming year; GESIA is also looking at active participation in the Vibrant Gujarat 2013 summit.
The ambitious plans for the future include setting up training centers across the state and help the ICT industry grow to a higher level. Commenting on the appointment of new office bearers, Mr. Sunil Kakkad said that "GESIA has been looking at opening additional chapters across prominent locations across the state to involve more members and become a strongly heard voice on the national level. The new members will continue to work in accordance with these goals."
The association has always believed in building strong foundations for the future and to continue the good work in this direction, GESIA had recently organized an interactive session with Dr. Akshay Agarwal, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University and Presidents of other city level ICT associations. The purpose of this interaction was to formulate an agenda to work on improving the quality of students and faculties within the state.
GESIA has also been actively organizing events across forums to propagate the growth of the ICT industry in Gujarat. In line with this tradition the association has been supporting activities and doing joint events with organizations like NASSCOM, MAIT, FICCI, etc. Through these events GESIA looks at becoming an active voice in the national level policy making process.
As a state level body; GESIA has been successfully recognized as a platform for discussions and solutions of common issues as well as networking within the ICT industry. The institute is looking at achieving a greater representation for the ICT industry at a national level for the year 2012-2013.
