GeNIA Releases 'Landscapes of the Mind' Album
Concert pianist and composer GéNIA releases new album 'Landscapes of the Mind'.
- (1888PressRelease) February 19, 2022 - GeNIA’s composition ‘Landscapes of the Mind’ was inspired by her frequent travels to France, a country of great history and culture. As a nation, French people are known for their ability to fight openly for their rights, voicing their demands clearly. GéNIA was a witness to numerous demonstrations and political actions during her visits. Interpreting this as the observer, she could not fail to notice the changed atmosphere in such an otherwise harmonious and peaceful surroundings.
Landscapes of the Mind’ is one of the tracks on GéNIA’s forthcoming album ‘Voyages français.
As our mind often takes us to calm and beautiful places, but it also sometimes connects us to our demons and inner turmoil, and this is what this music composition is all about.
Additionally, included in the ‘Landscapes of the Mind’ album are compositions which form the part of ‘Voyages français’ and have been previously released in 2021: ‘Whisper’, ‘Claude’ and ‘Lever de Soleil’ (dedicated to the beauty of French nature), ‘St Paul’ (dedicated to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a beautiful village in the south of France which overlooks the sea and is known for a large number of artists’ galleries and studios), ‘Jean’ (dedicated to a young intelligent French 9-year boy with a big sad eyes), ‘St Michelle’ (dedicated to the old village St. Michelle D’Euzet), ‘Valse à la française’ (inspired by the composer's summer travels in the south of France ) and ‘Where am I?’ (when GéNIA was considering her move to France).
All these compositions will appear in 2022 in GéNIA’s album ‘Voyages français’ which was inspired by GéNIA‘s frequent journeys to her beloved France. France was the country where GéNIA first started to compose, influenced by the nature, art, local food and, of course, wonderful people who she met on her journeys. ‘Voyages français’ is dedicated to 10 different experiences, memories of which remained with the composer throughout her life.

Described by Gramophone magazine as “a charismatic pianist”, GéNIA is known for her enthralling stage presence. She comes from a distinguished line of Russian pianists and was taught by her great-grandmother, the renowned pedagogue Regina Horowitz, the sister of pianist Vladimir Horowitz. GéNIA made her London debut as a concert pianist in the Park Lane Group Young Artist Series, which was followed by concert tours in the UK, Europe and USA. London venues include Wigmore Hall, Barbican, Southbank Centre, Olympia, Kings Place, St. John’s Smith Square and St. Martin in the Fields.
As a performing artist GéNIA made a controversial and pioneering move away from the classical concert platform for a number of years. Breaking classical music traditions, GéNIA’s concerts often take the form of a show, rather than a classical concert, as she loves to connect with her audience, making the experience very personal to them.
