About Gavin Reinke
Gavin Reinke in a senior associate in Alston & Bird’s Atlanta office and focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and class actions. His experience includes representing businesses in privacy-related class actions, False Claims Act litigation, products liability litigation, and financial services litigation. As an experienced privacy litigator, Gavin has unique insight into risks businesses face from various privacy laws and advises clients about how to best mitigate those risks while minimizing the impact to their businesses. Abstract
Privacy regulations have been changing in recent years in a reaction to the evolving practices of companies. Attention is increasingly given to individual participation in the processing of their data and the increased interest of companies in monetizing personal information, often through the sharing of data with various third parties. This session will highlight key new privacy requirements that have a direct impact on how organizations collect and maintain personal information and will analyze litigation risks that are associated with some of these new requirements. The session will point to key challenges with traditional data management practices and the likely solutions to address them.
