Gary Lang Car Show Participants Help McHenry County Salvation Army
Gary Lang Auto Group teamed up with the Salvation Army of McHenry County to help raise money and collect school supplies for children in need in McHenry County.
- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) August 03, 2012 - Gary Lang Classic Car Show participants donated $1,356 today to the Salvation Army for McHenry County.
"We asked each participant to donate $5 for the Salvation Army's summer school supply drive," stated Dixie Gilmore, VP/GM of the Gary Lang Auto Group, "Many people donated more and several dropped off school supplies for the drive, as well."
The donation will go to the local Salvation Army Corp based in Crystal Lake. The summer school supply drive helps kids in need get a backpack filled with school supplies. They average 1,500 backpacks per drive.
The Crystal Lake Corp provides services to McHenry County residents. Services include: Emergency services in case someone is being evicted from their home or their utilities are on the verge of being shut off. They also help people put together a plan so they can solve the problem for the future. Another service is an Emergency Disaster Team that assists in natural disaster or fire emergencies. The McHenry Thrift Store helps fund free adult rehabilitation for adults with addictions, with their free recovery program.
