Garvey Schubert Barer Adds Laurence Finegold to White Collar Defense Practice in Seattle
Garvey Schubert Barer has added litigator Laurence B. Finegold to its Seattle office. Finegold joins as an owner in the firm's White Collar Defense and Investigations Group, following 30 years as president at The Finegold Law Firm.
- Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2011 - "Larry is considered one of the finest criminal defense lawyers on the West Coast. His wealth of experience and trial skills are a clear complement to our already strong, national white collar defense practice, especially during a period marked by increased government oversight," said Anne Preston, chair of the firm. "Larry's addition not only marks our 10th lateral hire this year, it comes on the heels of our additions of prominent litigators Gary Grenley and Paul Trinchero in Portland. These three trial lawyers bring a combined total of more than 75 years of courtroom experience to the firm, expanding our capabilities and bench strength. We are enormously gratified that so many exceptional lawyers are choosing to join Garvey Schubert. We think that it says great things about our firm and its future."
For more than 30 years, Finegold operated a small law firm focused on representing individuals and companies, small or large, in federal criminal matters and related civil cases. He has been involved in numerous white collar federal cases across the nation. Finegold has also represented clients in matters involving antitrust, customs, federal farm subsidies, fisheries, fraud and public corruption, as well as those involving the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Finegold previously served as the Executive Assistant/Chief Assistant to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington. He has been listed in Naifeh & Smith's Best Lawyers in America for more than 20 years, Barry Tarlow's National Directory of Criminal Defense Lawyers since its inception in 1979 and Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Finegold received his LL.M. from Georgetown University (1971), his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Washington School of Law (1968) and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Washington (1965).
