A seasoned communications attorney, McCombs joins the firm from Sprint Nextel Corporation, where he served as counsel in wireless spectrum transactions.

Focusing on wireless, broadcasting and cable television law issues, McCombs has extensive experience in wireless spectrum utilization, broadband, regulatory compliance, licensing and transactional matters. He has advised clients in Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licensing, rulemaking and adjudicatory proceedings, as well as in appellate matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals and U.S. Supreme Court. In addition, he represents broadcasting, cable and wireless clients in matters involving spectrum re-banding and digital signal technology.
McCombs is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association, as well as the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association. McCombs earned his J.D. from the George Washington University National Law Center (1975), his B.A. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972 and his B.J. in radio-TV news from the University of Texas at Austin, also in 1972.
