(1888PressRelease) February 02, 2011 - Cincinnati, OH - Gallagher Medical Products, Inc. - Announces: The launch of the German built HEINE - MicroLight® and mPackLL® - an ultra-light headlight and power pack system for use in many surgical and dental specialties.

Used to enhance illumination of the operative site, traditional headlights are mounted on bulky head frames, and are tethered to a light projector via a thick fiber optic light cable. During long cases, these head frames become uncomfortable for the surgeon. This problem is compounded by the cumbersome light cable, which restricts movement of staff as they must move around the operative field. The goal has been to produce a light-weight headlight, powered by a battery system giving sufficient time to complete longer cases without the need to change power packs.

German surgical optics manufacturers continue to lead the way, and Munich based HEINE utilized the latest LED technology in the new MicroLight®. The light head component was designed to contain three custom ground lenses to produce a cool intense beam of white light that is equal in brightness across the circle field-of-view.

Earlier power packs were only able to offer 3-7 hours of light, but advanced circuitry was built into the mPackLL®, netting an industry leading 17 hours of operating time at the brightest intensity. It is also equipped with a light intensity knob, charge meter, and a belt-clip to attach to belt or scrubs. With global markets in mind, its recharging transformer is shipped standard with multiple plug-in adapters.
