G Studios Announces The Screening Of Its First Short-film, Navarasam
It gives us great pleasure to announce the screening of G Studios' first short-film Navarasam, written and directed by a young duo Mr. Ranga & Mr.Deeraj Vaidy.
- (1888PressRelease) August 28, 2013 - As the title suggests the film is based on the nine human expressions; Sringara - Love, Hasya - Humour, Karuna - compassion, Raudra - Anger, Veera - Valour, Bhaya - Fear, Bhibhatsa - Disgust, Adbhuta - Wonder, Shanta - Tranquility. The cinematography is handled by Aravind Swaminathan, music is by Dayanand Piraisudan and editing is by Anil Krish.
Mr. C. R. Venkatesh (Managing Director and CEO,Galatta Media) says, "Getting into film production has been a long cherished dream and I think short films is the best way to enter this field. In past decade or so the medium of short films has become very popular with the youngsters. They have used this medium to not just showcase their experiences but also highlight social issues. It is my honour and pleasure to be associated with this genre of films. The main aim of G Studios is to create a platform for young and budding film makers. We will be producing as well as distributing short films."
Ms. Shakthi Girish (Chief Editor, Galatta Cinema ) says "Galatta is over a decade old, with only support from everyone and our own hard work - no big overseas investor, no illegal content minting us money, no big brother. It's a great legacy and all we want to do to keep it going is try newer things, always progress and never regress - at least, we try our best! Movie media is our core strength, our bread-winner. So after 12 years of several firsts and a hard-earned reputation, movie productions seems to be the natural next step. Like everything else we do, G Studios is not about dumping investment into producing movies without understanding the business, so these are baby steps for us. We want to work with young, energetic filmmakers, garner the wisdom and experience of our well-wishers in the industry, understand markets and the business of cinema and so on, as we experiment on short films and other types of cinema, before we move onto full-length features. It could take months, or years and we're willing to sweat it out until we get it right! For now, I've got my fingers crossed that we do it all properly; and that people support us in all such ventures!"
