Gaston, SC-based Trucking Company to Open New Facility and Expand Services in Support of Inland Port Opening This Fall.
- Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, SC (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2013 - G&P Trucking announced today that the Gaston-based trucking company has purchased an additional 10-acre site in Greer, SC. The acquisition and expansion of G&P's trucking presence in Greer, where it currently has a 14 acre full service terminal, is a direct result of the new inland port that is being opened by the South Carolina Ports Authority later this fall. The new inland port is designed to improve the efficiency of container movements between the Port of Charleston, the upstate region and neighboring states.
G&P President Clifton Parker said the new 'port without water' will give port customers more options for importing and exporting their products.
"The opening of the inland port in Greer will mean that shipping containers can be transferred directly to our trucks and delivered to our upstate customers," said Parker. "Expanding our presence in Greer gives us the opportunity to improve drayage services and offer more flexibility for our customers.
The 10-acre site is located at 2665 Highway 101, Greer, SC.
