FY 2024 ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Code Updates
Changes Effective October 1; ‘Early Bird’ Pricing Available through July 31.
- (1888PressRelease) July 14, 2023 - BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS – Important changes to the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes and guidelines for FY 2024 become effective October 1, 2023. Libman Education’s code update training is available now – well ahead of the effective date – for teams and individuals to proactively prepare for the changes.
“This year’s changes are more diverse than in the past, with more new diseases and new technologies,” said Lynn Kuehn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, FAHIMA, author of the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Code Updates for FY 2024. “My CM Update includes 46 different concepts that coders must master. My PCS Update provides a detailed look at the changes including important additions for surgical procedures, important testing procedures, and new technology. No coder should wake up October 1 and not be fully prepared to use the new codes correctly.”
Understanding and implementing the code updates is a team effort. Coders need time to learn the changes, what they mean and how to apply them. Coding leaders have the added responsibility of preparing the entire health care team for the changes in data collection and documentation requirements based on changes to the code set.

ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Code Updates for FY 2024 are available now. Coders will retain access well beyond the October 1 implementation date to ensure they can still refer to the updates as they start working with the FY 2024 code set. CPT Code Updates for 2024 will be available in November.
