Futureboy 5000 Launches Rocket Science
Futureboy 5000 makes new songs out of old sci-fi movies, 8-bit Nintendo games and heavy dance beats. It sounds like Daft Punk mixed up with Super Mario & Star Trek. The album Rocket Science is out now.
- (1888PressRelease) November 23, 2013 - After releasing retrofuturistic music videos for the songs Got to be Drunk and Life on Mars, Futureboy 5000 now presents his debut album Rocket Science.
This electronic dance music album is inspired by artists like Daft Punk, deadmau5 and Savant. The addition of old sci-fi movie quotes and vintage Nintendo sounds really take it to the next level.
It all started on Planet Earth…
where DJ Futureboy 5000 has been working on the next big bang (in music).
His sonic laboratory is housing in a tiny spot in the galaxy known as "The Netherlands". While his Dutch colleagues Armin van Buuren, Afrojack and Tiësto move the crowds in earthly stadiums, Futureboy 5000 is busy shaking the planets in the rest of the galaxies.
The album Rocket Science launched to iTunes, Amazon and Spotify this week. An album release party will be held in a solar system near you, so stay tuned.
Others on Futureboy 5000
"We love this new tune about drunk computers from Futureboy 5000, a DJ who mashes up old science fiction with newfangled beats. Take a break, plug in your earbuds, and groove to the beat of space computer intoxication." (io9.com)
"Anyone who grew up with Nintendo games, SEGA or other amenities from the 80s and early 90s will not be able to stop help smiling when listening to these songs, encountering those lo-fi sounds, blips, glitches and little noises that characterised the childhood of so many of us. The tantalizing clash between the old and the new, the slick and the organic, the geeky and cool are actually the greatest strengths of Futureboy 5000."
