Fugro Roadware Links iVision With Transmetric's Traffic Server
Fugro Roadware's iVision database can now link directly with Traffic Server to offer clients the ability to view and play the latest roadway imagery and pavement condition information at any location, with just a single click.
- (1888PressRelease) May 30, 2013 - Fugro Roadware continues to strengthen its pavement data usability through a partnership of its web application iVision with Transmetric's Traffic Server.
Departments of Transportation (DOTs) collect traffic data over many of their road networks and later load that data into Traffic Server. Through this collaboration, Fugro Roadware's iVision database can now link directly with Traffic Server to offer clients the ability to view and play the latest roadway imagery and pavement condition information at any location, with just a single click. They also have the capacity to view historical images and data, pavement condition information, and summarized metrics, all of which help DOTs understand the traffic data better.
This partnership is consistent with Fugro Roadware's development strategy for iVision. Michael Nieminen, Director of Technology Development at Fugro Roadware commented, "Departments of Transportation do not want to create more data silos when they buy new software. iVision fits right in with existing enterprise and GIS systems. In fact, customers now have the capability to maximize the value of other data sets by linking them with the powerful visualization tools we have developed to add context to those data sets."
iVision can be connected quickly and easily to existing GIS data sources including roadway asset data, pavement management data, traffic data, and safety data on a wide variety of 3rd party systems. iVision also has the ability to "stay in sync" with other systems, so that as a user plays images in iVision, the current location updates simultaneously in 3rd party systems.
iVision is a web-based application that delivers the ideal solution for inter-office and remote location deployment of images and analyzed road data. Users can access the images and data anywhere they have a web browser and internet connection. Processed data can be viewed in a user-customizable workspace and all views remain synchronized with each other.
