The Sim's park is located at a distance of three km to the north of Coonoor railway station. Ooty fruit show is witnessed by thousands of tourists and locals to this place.
This popular event in Ooty organized by the horticulture department, displays more than fifty varieties of fruits produced in the region. The ultimate aim of the show is to increase awareness among the farmers as well as farming societies, so that they get involved in the production of fruits. The ultimate part of the event is the fruit garden competition in which around twenty gardens of the Nilgiris participate by presenting different varieties of fruits produced by them. This show is a great platform for the farmers, where they can present different varieties of fruits produced by them. The deserving fruit producers are honored with awards for best fruit garden as well as best exhibits of fruits. The variety of fruits displayed and sold during the show including apricots, plums, pomegranates, lemons and peaches make the show more colorful.
Visit this show in Ooty to witness some of the best fruitl carvings in shapes of animals or even huge replicas like that of Ooty railway station displayed in the earlier fruit shows.
