From Epsom to Egypt: vascular surgery with SonoSite's NanoMaxx(TM)
The hand-carried NanoMaxx™ ultrasound system from SonoSite is proving a valuable asset to vascular surgery.
- (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2011 - SonoSite's hand-carried NanoMaxx™ ultrasound system is proving a valuable asset to vascular surgery, as Mr Robert Taylor, Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Clock House Medical Practice in Epsom and Consultant Emeritus, Department of Vascular Surgery, St George's Hospital, London, explained: "I use the NanoMaxx primarily for the assessment of varicose veins and diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis. For my preferred treatment of varicose veins - endovenous chemical ablation - Duplex is a mandatory requirement. The NanoMaxx enables me to carry out ultrasound-guided microfoam injections using on-screen visualisation to precisely position the foam. The system is easy to use, which makes it an ideal instrument for training."
We have been using SonoSite instruments for well over ten years now and bought the NanoMaxx about six months ago as an additional instrument. I do quite a lot of work abroad, particularly in Egypt where I do not have access to modern ultrasound systems. As the NanoMaxx is both portable and robust I can easily take it overseas, which is a real asset to me." Mr Taylor concluded: "In all the time I have been using SonoSite I have found the service first class, and the support they offer is excellent."
