From China To France: Urban Pop Singer Singer Beilei "In Between Two Worlds"
Her latest album entitled "Between 2 Worlds" is her effort to bridge a gap between two worlds with her music and heartfelt messages.
- (1888PressRelease) January 29, 2014 - Music is a bridge. It's an art form that can convey a message, convey a feeling. It gives you a place to set your feet on when there is a gap missing in your life. Whether the message is deep and insightful or happy and cheerful, music bridges the gap between emotions and messages. But some bridges are larger, and it takes talented artists to create music that can bridge the gap, especially between cultures. Shanghai and Paris-based Pop-R&B singer Beilei is one of those artists. In a recent interview, Beilei talked about her artistic career, her future plans, and her personal views on her music.
Beilei is a Chinese-born songstress who grew up in Paris and has always had an affinity for singing. At a young age, she was already performing in her neighborhood in China before moving to France. Though she stated that she was influenced to pursue more of a business role within the music industry, she couldn't back down from her creativity, and with the right tools, has became a phenomenal artist.
She began singing professionally in her early 20's, which some professionals may deem to be "too late". However with drive and a relentless pursuit of her dream, she humbly started by performing at several events and bars where her vocals where needed. This quickly blossomed into a career, having played in events all over China, France, Morocco, and Japan.

She has performed in the humblest of bars to the biggest stadiums. Notable performances have been alongside big companies such as preforming in a MBW Motors event and a Lancôme event as well. She has also performed in various clubs and bars between China and France, including France's known "Le Pavillion" and "China Bar".
Not only has her music transcended cultural barriers with a positive reaction, but her music has also been mentioned amongst the upper echelon of musical minds. She entered her signature song "My One & Only" to the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in which top industry people, including world-renowned producer Timbaland, rate songs and declare a winner. Not only were the judges impressed with her song, but she managed to go all the way to the semi-final round of the competition, the first Chinese song ever to accomplish this.

Beilei has the very unique talent of singing in three different languages: Mandarin, French, and English. She can effortlessly sing all three to perfection but tends to sing in English for her more commercial songs. She credits Mariah Carey as being her musical heroine and her music has played a big role in her interest in music as well as career. Her voice has a soothing yet commanding flow, which grabs your attention and eases you into her music. Her latest album entitled "Between 2 Worlds" is her effort to bridge a gap between two worlds with her music and heartfelt messages.
"Between 2 Worlds" has a very Urban Pop production style to it laced with Beilei's R&B vocals. Standout tracks include "Losin' Control", "Romantic Wedding", and the critically acclaimed "My One & Only". The production of the album was taken care of Shanghai producer UJ and has been a key factor in Beilei's sound, giving her that Urban signature for her music. Her album is less of a roller coaster of emotions and more of a hang gliding experience for a Pop/R&B album. At first, you don't know quite to expect, since she is singing in three different languages throughout the album, but once you've settled in, you can glide through every track and let the music take over.
She has a charismatic voice in her songs, playing the part of a love-struck songstress to an upbeat cheerleader. That's what makes her unique; her ability to adapt to the emotion of any song. Her messages include how love can really take a hold of a person and there will be pain to confront. But that can quickly change and she can sing about being ahead of the game and actin as a leader to take charge in one's life. With her distinctive voice and signature style, Beilei is definitely an artist to be on the lookout for.

As for her future projects, she has a television profile to be broadcast this spring on France's TV show "Tellement Vrai", a French variety show where they follow the lives of celebrities and anonymous people to get a better view of French life. She is also slated to sing in the upcoming event honoring the 50th Anniversary of China being recognized as a modern country in France.
Beilei is the perky singer crossing all frontiers and paving the way for a new generation of artists and musicians that can transcend culture and bridge the gap between worlds, to which music can run free and touch the lives and fill the ears of millions of people. One of the things she was adamant about was bringing more cultural awareness of her Chinese heritage to the Western world through her music. She wants to capture audiences with updated, modern version of classic Chinese Pop songs the same way the captivated the Chinese people. Her mission with her career is to honor her heritage and let audiences know that Chinese music can be enjoyed worldwide. She has already constructed the bridge between China and France; her next step is to build the bridge to more of the Western World with her voice and her album "Between 2 Worlds".
